Polygamer ranks The New World among its must-play Paris escape rooms, after giving Witches! the same distinction in February 2026.

On 4 October 2026, the French specialist site Polygamer published its review of The New World, our eighth adventure, and placed it in its “Incontournables” category, its must-play rooms. After Witches!, distinguished in February 2026, it is the second Le Donjon room to join this category.

What “Incontournable” means at Polygamer

Polygamer has been reviewing Paris escape rooms for many years and keeps a public ranking of the city’s rooms. Its highest category is reserved for a handful of rooms, chosen unanimously by its reviewers:

“If you love escape rooms, you absolutely have to play these Paris rooms.” (translated from French)

The other Le Donjon adventures reviewed by Polygamer, The Alchemist, The Cursed Lovers, The Crypt and The Asylum, are listed in its “Excellent” category.

What the reviewers noticed

Three Polygamer reviewers played the adventure. The first thing they mention is the set design, starting with the welcome area, before the game has even begun:

“The welcome area alone would put many escape room companies to shame, the sets are that good.” (translated from French)

They also praise the vertical use of space, the flow of puzzles and mechanisms, and the game master, whose humour and close attention to the team made the mission “memorable”. One of them found the opening a little slow, until the crossing changed everything:

“The room pulls you into its world and moves at a frantic pace, with no downtime.” (translated from French)

Captain’s office with blue walls, paintings, a wooden desk and a red armchair
The captain’s office, where the adventure begins
Ship’s hold lit by lanterns, with hammocks, barrels and ropes
The galleon’s hold, during the crossing

A more playful adventure, in the same world

The New World continues the story that connects our eight rooms: the story of the Count, who will do anything to bring Léa, his lost love, back to life. This time, he sends players to fetch water from the Fountain of Youth, aboard a galleon and then through a hostile jungle.

With this room, we wanted an adventure that was brighter and more playful than our horror rooms, without giving up what makes Le Donjon what it is: sets designed as real places, puzzles that serve the story and a game master who is there from start to finish. One Polygamer reviewer sums up this balance by calling it “a particularly rich and entertaining popcorn adventure”.

The New World at a glance

  • 75-minute adventure for 2 to 6 players
  • Intermediate difficulty, fear level 1.5/5
  • Meeting point in front of Passage Vendôme, 3 Place de la République

To make up your own mind, book your crossing.
